The Mahler Players present Parsifal Act 2 – Inverness.


The Mahler Players open the 2025/26 season with the continuation of their journey through Wagner’s Parsifal, this time with concert performances of Act 2. Also on the programme will be Matthew King’s new orchestration of a beautiful piano piece by Wagner, the Albumblatt für Frau Betty Schott, and opening the concert Boulez’s striking fanfare for brass, Initiale.

Joining the orchestra will be old friends, including Sir John Tomlinson making his debut in the role of Klingsor and Magdalena Anna Hofmann taking the role of Kundry.

This first performance on Saturday 20th September will take place in the atmospheric surroundings of Inverness Cathedral (there is a further performance on Sunday 21st September in Strathpeffer Pavilion).
