North Atlantic Project
This unusual combination of instruments combine elements of Scottish traditional music with American bluegrass and oldtime music. Alaskan Cheyenne Brown on harp brings out the Scottish flavours, and Scottish Dave Currie on dobro, guitar and vocals showcases the American seasoning. But things get really exciting when the traditionally-Celtic harp stomps out a bluegrass standard with a choppy bassline, or the American-invented dobro slides through a beautiful Scottish air. The rhythmic and lyrical fretless bass of Graham Muir underpins the transitions between Americana and Scotland. The combination is truly a unique cross-genre bricolage of instruments, culture and soundscapes.
Evie Waddell
Stirlingshire native Evie Waddell is a renowned Gaelic and Scots singer and fiddler. Deeply influenced by Scottish musical traditions, Evie’s passion was ignited by the likes of Jo Miller, Ivor Cutler, Martyn Bennet, Lisa O Neill and Rhiannon Giddens. In 2024, Evie emerged as a BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist, solidifying her place among the brightest talents in the industry.
