Intesa Duo: Violas da Gamba. “Flamme d’Amore”.

Note – The Viola da Gamba is a string instrument popular in the Renaissance and Baroque eras played resting on the leg and known for its sweet, reedy melancholic sound.

INTESA DUO: Intesa was formed in 2023 at the Royal Academy of Music by Lucine Musaelian and Nathan Giorgetti, with the goal of celebrating the instruments combination with the voice. Intesa is an Italian word meaning understanding, or a meeting of minds. This ethos of collaboration and agreement is embodied in the programming where folk and early music repertoire are placed side-by-side, bringing together European and Armenian traditions. The duo has performed regularly in the United Kingdom and internationally. Intesa were awarded the 2023-24 Chamber Music Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music and were one of five winners selected for a tour by The Tunnell Trust in their 2024 auditions. The Intesa Duo have also been selected to perform at the St Magnus Festival in Orkney in June 2026 along with other well known groups such as The Hebrides Ensemble now in their 30th year.
