The Mahler Players present Bruckner’s Third Symphony.

Inverness Cathedral, Sunday 7th December at 4pm

Mozart Overture to Don Giovanni
Bruckner Symphony No. 3 in D minor (original 1873 version)

The Mahler Players
Conductor Tomas Leakey

Join the Mahler Players as they continue their Mozart and Bruckner series. The overture to Don Giovanni opens with some of Mozart’s darkest and most dramatic music, taken from the terrifying final scene of the opera in which Don Giovanni is dragged down into hell.

Bruckner’s Third Symphony, sometimes known as the “Wagner Symphony” due to the quotes incorporated from Wagner’s music, is often considered his first major masterpiece. The Mahler Players, appearing once again as a full symphony orchestra, will bring it to life under the awe-inspiring arches of Inverness Cathedral in its original 1873 version.
