Trotovšek Bizjak Canyigueral Trio

Violinist Lana Trotovšek has captivated audiences with her ‘true feel of live intuitive performance’ (The Strad) and for bringing ‘freshness, depth and insight’ to her interpretations. Washington Post has described her as ‘Radiant’ and praised her ‘clean, refined tone with musical sense of phrasing and impeccable intonation’.  Since her debut with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev in 2012, Lana Trotovšek appeared with some of the world’s finest orchestras and has performed at some of the most prestigious venues, including Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven.  Her talent has taken her beyond Europe to perform in China, Japan, the UAE, Canada, the USA.  She has also featured as an artist at renowned international festivals including Rheingau, Aix en Provence, Shanghai International Arts Festival, Festival Internacional de Santander, Dubrovnik, Bad Kissingen, St Magnus International and Aldeburgh.

Slovenian flutist Boris Bizjak, based in London, is the prize-winner of many competitions. He won the 1st and 2nd prize at the European Flute Competition in Picardy, France. He was regularly a top prize winner as a soloist and chamber musician at the Slovenian National competition.  Boris performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Slovenia, Great Britain, the United States, Japan, China, France, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Cyprus and Malta.  As a baroque flautist, he collaborates with harpsichordist Masumi Yamamoto, with whom he performs in Great Britain, Norway, and Japan. He also performed with the Flaugissimo ensemble and the Oxford Bach Soloists, and at the Ljubljana Festival with gambist Domen Marinčič and harpsichordist Tomaž Sevšek Šramel.  Bizjak is also director of an audio and video production Hedone Records, and the co-founder with Lana Trotovšek of the Biennial Chamber Music Festival in Blackheath, UK.

Catalan pianist Maria Canyigueral has been described by La Vanguardia as ‘a pianist of great personality’ and one of the leading lights among the new generation of Spanish pianists.  Her collaborations with several outstanding, contemporary Spanish composers has earned her high praise from critics and audiences alike in both Spain and the UK.  Having completed her undergraduate studies at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, Maria attained a Master of Arts in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London.  After being a prizewinner in several international piano competitions she worked on her own project ‘Avant-Guarding Mompou’ which was premiered in London in June 2018 and featured several internationally renowned Catalan musicians.  Maria has recently been appointed as Music Director of the Teatre Sarria in Barcelona with her principal project being to develop an annual series of chamber music explorations.
