So what else is on?

Perseus Duo

Thursday 26th January 2023 at 7.30pm

Crown Church

Anthony Poon from Hong Kong (violin) and Galin Ganchev Ganchev from Bulgaria (piano) state the philosophy of their performance, “As a duo we strive to attain the highest possible standard of performance which includes performing as much as possible and as many pieces as possible in different occasions and venues.   As we do spend a good amount of time in preparation, closely involving ourselves somewhat methodically and emotionally with the works we are studying and with the research they require, engaging with an audience at the end of each period of preparation is more than important to us. It is the initial and final goal.”

Michael Dussek of the Royal Academy of Music says of the Perseus Duo, “This is a serious, well-matched and committed duo partnership which has performed a wide range of repertoire, often with both performers playing from memory. Recent highlights have included Schubert’s C major Fantasy and Enescu’s Impromptu Concertant.  Anthony and Galin are both outstandingly accomplished instrumentalists and they are committed as a duo to serious study of the violin/piano repertoire. I recommend them unreservedly.”
